He was the oldest child of Arthur Piaget, professor of medieval literature at the University, and of Rebecca Jackson. At age 11, while he was a pupil at Neuchâtel Latin high school, he wrote a short notice on an albino

Piaget’s theory is founded on genetic epistemology. His theory is the result of intense investigation, specifically focusing on the nature and timing of events in life, by observing children engaging in specific tasks developed by Piaget. From his qualitative research Piaget proposed a framework of cognitive development in four specific stages. 2003-01-01 Summarizing a summary is impossible if we want to avoid unacceptable schematizing. So let us merely state the theses very briefly developped in this article. (I) Knowledge deals with the transformati Piaget was clearly extending a notion borrowed from Binet (early in his career Piaget had been employed standardizing intelligence tests, Vidal, 1994), but while Binet focused on individual differences, Piaget found significance in children’s similarities (Hoffman, 1982).
